Weybridge Hall

Breathing Life Into Our Hall

For over a century, Weybridge Hall has been part of our town’s story — from its early days as a shop, to a cinema, and later a vibrant community hall hosting local events and gatherings. However, for the past decade, it has stood silent and unused, slowly slipping into disrepair. Together, we now have the opportunity to bring this much-loved landmark back to life, restoring it as a vibrant hub filled with people and purpose once again.

A Story That's Part of Weybridge

1899

Weybridge Hall opens as a local shop in the heart of town.

1920

The building is transformed into a cinema, bringing entertainment to the community.

1950s

Weybridge Council takes ownership, turning it into a busy community hall for local events and  activities.

2014

The hall closes its doors, standing empty and falling into disrepair.

Today

We’re ready to bring life back to this much-loved landmark, restoring it as a place for people, events, and the making of new history.

Serving People, Building Community

Equippers Church has a history of making a difference in the community, not just on Sundays, but every day, with a sensitive approach to renovating and restoring local buildings. In 2009, The Hub in Chertsey was transformed from a derelict youth centre, into a place where hundreds of people found connection through family groups, toddler soft-play, a public café, concerts, art exhibitions and community events. More recently, between 2022 and 2024, we completed the restoration of St Charles Borromeo Chapel and the neighbouring building on Heath Road, bringing this historic site back to life as a vibrant teaching and community space, including the reopening of its 200-year-old chapel, recently celebrated by hundreds of local residents during a community fun day.

Our heart is now to serve the people of Weybridge, bringing that same experience and dedication.

What’s Ahead for the Hall?

At the heart of the building is a two-level auditorium, which will be restored to seat 300-400 people. This flexible space will be used for Equippers Church’s Sunday services and is ideal for events, gatherings and performances. The ground floor foyer will be transformed into an open, welcoming space, designed for pre- and post-event gatherings. The upper floors will be refurbished for use in conjunction with the auditorium on Sundays, and will feature a variety of multi-purpose rooms and studios, ideal for workshops, courses, kids’ activities, meetings and more. These spaces will offer flexibility for different group sizes and needs.

Once the plans are approved, and as we approach the completion of renovations,

we will confirm the process for external hires.

Community and Local Businesses Side by Side

Weybridge comes alive when people gather and connect. We’re here to build positive connections with local organisations and businesses. We’ll actively encourage our community to support cafés, restaurants and shops, especially during midweek events, conferences, and Sunday services in Weybridge Hall. We’re also mindful of parking, encouraging walking, using public transport, and will be providing a shuttle service from Weybridge Station when necessary to reduce congestion.
